CHEMUK, which takes place on 15th and 16th September 2021 at the Birmingham NECbrings together the UK’s chemical processing and chemical product formulation industries, providing an intensive 2-day supply chain sourcing, business networking, intelligence gathering, best-practice and strategy development experience.
With an excess of 2,500+ specialist businesses contributing to the UK’s chemical industry – embracing raw materials, chemicals, equipment & apparatus, business services and much more, CHEMUK is the event where the UK’s chemical industries meet.
We kicked off our card for a contribution campaign back at the first CHEMUK event in 2019 raising money for Demelza Hospice Care, The Paula Carr Diabetes Trust and Eva’s Angels. All we asked was for a business card and in return for each card we made a donation of £1 to one of our chosen charities.
This year our three chosen charities are FairShare, NHS Charities and Macmillan Cancer Support. To participate all you need to do is visit the team on stand H8 and place your business card into the box of your chosen good cause. We donate £1 for every business card in the pot so be sure to get your colleagues and guests involved too!
About our chosen good causes:
FareShare
FareShare believes that no good food should go to waste. They redistribute good food – which is surplus to customer demand – to charities, who turn it into meals. In its 25th year, FareShare provided enough food to make the equivalent of 57 million meals, up 23% from last year. This represents only 1% of the 2.25 million tonnes of good to eat surplus food going to waste in the UK every year, whilst 1 in 8 people in the UK go hungry.
Running since 1994, FareShare was put into the spotlight with the help and support of England International Footballer, Marcus Rashford who has been an ambassador of FareShare since the start of the pandemic.

NHS Charities Together
NHS Charities Together is the national charity caring for the NHS. They are made up of 240 NHS charity members based with hospitals, mental health, ambulance and community health services across the UK.
Funds raised by NHS Charities Together enable the health service to go above and beyond what would otherwise be possible. Through their 240 member charities covering the UK they fund projects that improve services for patients and help NHS staff and volunteers both practically and emotionally so that they can continue with their vital life-saving work.
