Lime Hydrated

Lime Hydrated, also commonly known as Calcium Hydroxide, is a soft white powder with the chemical formula Ca(OH)2.  Obtained through a mixture of calcium oxide with water it has uses in a wide number of industries including construction, agriculture and manufacturing.

In construction, namely cement mortar, hydrated lime is used to add greater movability, providing constructions with greater tolerance to changes over the years. It also promotes breathability which in the long term inhibits damage, such as frost, in the brickwork.
