Sodium Hexametaphosphate is used in a number of products and industrial processes including water treatment, water softeners, metal treatment products and corrosion inhibitors as well as being an ingredient found in a wide number of washing and cleaning products and detergents.  Often found in dishwashing products, it also acts as a scale inhibitor helping water systems remain free-flowing and clear of build-up.
