Nitric Acid

Nitric acid is a highly corrosive, colourless mineral acid. It is commonly used in electrochemistry and in the production of fertilisers, but is also used in the manufacture of pyrotechnics, dyes, steel etching, photoengraving and within cleaning agents. Another primary use is in the horticulture industry where nitric acid is used in irrigation and fertigation systems to inhibit the build-up of scale in pipework and hoses. Alongside this it also offers an excellent source of nitrogen for the soil
