Methylene Chloride

Methylene chloride, also known as Dichloromethane, is a colourless liquid possessing an ether-like odour.

Mostly used as a solvent, it is predominantly used industrially across a variety of products and applications including adhesives, coatings and paints as well as in chemical processing and metalwork (industrial use only.

Other industrial uses for methylene chloride include use as an extraction solvent in the food and drink industry, where it works to create extracts for flavourings or to remove certain aspects, such as caffeine.  It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry to extract chemicals from plants to use in the production of medicines and vitamins.

Methylene Chloride is also an excellent cleaning agent, used to clean sensitive medical equipment without the risk of damage as well as to degrease metals and parts in the transport industry.
